Local hole in the wall sushi joint that been serving up great food for many years. Nothing fancy here, just good eats and friendly service.
The food is delicious and we love being able to watch it being prepared. The service is efficient and a great place to end the week. My adult children ask for Ugly Sushi on their birthdays.
This is a classic "tiny hole in the wall" LA experience. The chef j's owner takes his time to come And talk to his customers. There are a few tiny tables and you can even watch the chefs making sushi on a TV screen. It's really affordable and quality. The combo is a great deal. Also, an amazing place to get sushi to go! Friday night dinner delight!

Authentic Japanese sushi bang for the buck! Came twice in a month, no tummy ache Service was great! Chef owner was very attentive, great hospitality! Ambiance-you know you are there either for pick up for quick meal, so the hole-in-the walk style dining space doesn't bother me as long as the food are great!
Today was an exhausting day of driving and going to 2 challenging dental appointments... my doctor recommended I eat soft foods and the first thing I thought of was Sushi. Second thought, my neighborhood favorite UGLY ROLL. I love their UDON soup, new and different soy paper wrapped handrolls and Nigiri 10 piece assorted sushi... parking is so easy ... got it home and shared with my husband... to be honest it was an 80/20 share ... I hadn't eaten all day. Everything was fresh and delicious! Highly recommended and he has a YouTube channel where you can see him in action. He's super talented and a joy to watch. So happy he is so close to my home and a great asset to our neighborhood!
